What This SEO Checker Measures
TikTok does not offer a public API for pulling video metadata, so this checker works differently from a live lookup tool: you paste in your own caption, hashtags and a few details about the video, and it scores what you've provided against known TikTok SEO and discovery best practices, entirely inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
The Six Scoring Categories
- Caption length: a caption with real context, roughly 50 to 150 characters, scores best; both very short and very long captions lose points.
- Focus keyword usage: whether your target keyword appears in the caption, and how close to the start.
- Hashtag mix: a focused set of 3 to 8 hashtags that combine niche-specific tags with one or two broad ones.
- On-screen text / captions: burned-in text helps retention for muted viewers and gives TikTok more text to index.
- Trending sound usage: pairing your video with a trending sound taps into extra discovery through the sound page.
- Cover and posting time: a clear custom cover and posting during your audience's peak hours both give the algorithm a stronger early signal.
A High Score Isn't a Guarantee
This checker only evaluates the on-page metadata you control. TikTok's actual recommendation system weighs many additional signals it cannot see from a caption alone, including watch time, completion rate, rewatches and shares. Treat a high score as a solid, controllable foundation, not a promise of virality.
